SEARCHING FOR A SIGN

I’s about to go blind straining my eyes
Searching for some kinda sign of a change
Its hard to swallow the Truth but man I sure could use
Just a little a taste or two right now.
Never been a better time
To raise your hand against your fathers
Burn a flag and lay some flowers on the graves
Of our long forgotten martyrs.
I’m not saying I’m all in or nothing, no
But I’m searching for a sign.

Its hard to save yourself once you poison the well
Yea, who you gonna call for help then
Cause once them wheels, they fall off
And you start heading for the wall
Well there really there ain’t no soft way to land.
I never dreamed I’d ever live
To see the day that I’d see days like this
Did we just look up and all of a sudden find ourselves
Caught up in this big old fucking mess?
I’m not saying I’m all in or nothing, no
But I’m searching for a sign.

Everyboy’s waiting on somebody else to make that first move
But it’s hard to start a revolution when your face
Is six feet from your television
We’re all afraid to make that Big Decision
So we  keep hoping for a sign
Like maybe some virgin crack whore giving birth
To a Christ child at a trailer park out in the Hamptons
Or a little black stable boy statue crying whiskey tears
In the front yard of some mansion.
I’m not saying I’m all in or nothing, no
But I’m searching for a sign.

And I just wanna know how much shock and awe it takes
To bring this nation to it’s senses
I can feel a change coming soon, and I’m just searching for a sign.
