Powerlines

Listen: “Powerlines”

There’s seven million kilowatts running right above our heads
That’s a whole lotta juice, you know, it’s enough to kill us dead
There’s a tingle creeps across my skin runs down my spine, back up again
I can see electricity spark every hungry touch
We’re sliding kinda slippery-like on the hot hood on this truck
It’s what you’d call a double sin:
What I’m doing to her, what you’re doing to him.

But, we could not go to your place and we sure can’t go to mine
So we’re out here going at it, parked beneath these power lines.

Well, I pulled up to the power pole and I give it a little bump
I seen you cut your eyes at me and I just popped the clutch
Flaming sparks lit up the dark, they comma raining down like little burning hearts

But, we could not go to your place and we sure can’t go to mine
So we’re out here going at it, parked beneath these power lines

High voltage wires and distant stars
It’s everything I need I just want more
Signs are everywhere: “Danger Keep Away”
Well….this looks like the perfect place

Oh, there’s a crack-ling buzzing sound shooting down from up above
The current’s ripping through the air, it goes to burning in my blood
I feel it racing through my veins, it’s a deadly force
I start to work on you like a welding torch

Oh, we could not go to your place and we sure can’t go to mine
So we’re out here going at it, parked beneath these power lines
