With proven talents like Guy Clark, Peter Rowan, Jim Lauderdale, and Darrell Scott among the many fine songwriters who’ve made frequent appearances at the music festivals we present (Suwannee Springfest and Magnolia Fest), it’s obviously going to take alot of substance for a new voice to make its presence known in getting booked at our events. One of those voices belongs to Grant Peeples, whose fresh, honest, incisive, and eloquent songs captured the ears of our audience from his first appearnace in 2009. A compelling and gritty performer, he not only made a significant & immediate impact on loyal festival attendees, but also drew in many of his own fans from within the Florida & SE U.S. regions who hadn’t been to our events previouly. His new CD is produced & arranged by noneother than Gurf Morlix and it clearly proves that Peeples is poised to gain the attention of a considerably broader listening base in very short order. Other forward-looking festival talent bookers would be well-advised to give this one a good look and to take a chance on what could be one of New Americana music’s breakout success stories.
